About me

About Me

Hi, I’m Vijay Aditya-just Vijay is fine!

I’m an Indian living in Dubai, working in aviation for the past 15 years with a focus on navigation. Outside work, I am passionate about exploring the globe-navigating bustling streets, flavors, cultures and stories, usually with my wife in tow.

My Story

Travel started as curiosity at a very young age, shaped by journeys across India. I’ve been living independently since I was 18 for higher education, and later worked across multiple Indian cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Delhi.

Living and working in different places, combined with my time in the airline industry and countless journeys on India’s affordable air and train network, gave me the freedom to explore much of the country at my own pace.

Over time, that curiosity naturally extended beyond India. Travelling abroad, and eventually moving to Dubai for work. This, for me, shifted travel from just movement to something more observational. It became a way of understanding cultural differences, everyday life, and the small details that make each place feel distinct.

Over the years, I’ve travelled across the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Indonesia, the Middle East, and many more beautiful countries. Each place has quietly shaped how I see people, culture, and the rhythms of daily life. I also find myself returning to the same countries and regions with my wife, not just to see more, but to understand and enjoy the experience better.

Living in Dubai and working in a multicultural environment adds another layer of being at the crossroads of global cultures, while still staying deeply connected to India.

Somewhere along the way, travel stopped being about going places, and became more about observing, understanding, and simply being present and sharing the moment with my wife.

That perspective continues to shape this blog.

Why I Started This Blog

Whenever I try to find information about a place I want to visit, I observe that most travel content either in videos or blogs feels too curated for views or too generic.

My intent is to share my experiences that-

Feels real and personal

Is useful without being overwhelming should you want to visit the same place

Connects travel with culture, food, and everyday life

Help me manage my personal finance that enable these trips to happen

My hope with this blog is that you can read and enjoy my experiences and perhaps use the information in them to plan your trips better of you are headed that way too!

What Makes This Different

This isn’t just a travel blog.

It’s a mix of:

  • Travel and culture, and my perspective based on multiple visits to each country.
  • Coffee and food sub culture of the cities that I travel
  • Personal experience mixed with practical insights of what worked and what to avoid
  • Travel and accommodation hacks, given my experience in the Aviation Industry

You’ll find:

  • Walkable itineraries and foot guides based on my experience
  • Honest observations having visited each place multiple times
  • Coffee and food spots worth going out of your way for
  • Cultural details from my perspective
  • Local Transport hacks
  • Travel Finance hacks and a lot of data analytics
P.S: I have unfortunately not blogged about lots of trips over the last 36 months that I maintain a physical journal about. I will keep publishing them in the course of this year and make sure that they are updated with the latest information.

Thanks for visiting!
